SITE MOVE

April 16, 2008

Okay, this site will still be up, but to help keep my photography organized I will be moving back over to MSN Spaces.

Please bookmark http://myihome.wordpress.com/, I will be publishing editorial and commentary over there from now on.

Feel free to sign the guest book there and send me a friend request also!

The Comic Stew Is Going On Hiatus…

April 13, 2008

As I mentioned in the previous post, I am thinking about shutting down the Comic Stew. Well, I guess I am doing a little more than thinking now. I am putting the Comic Stew on hiatus.

The reasons for this are simple. With my new daughter and other projects, I just have less time to keep up with running this site, my photography site, writing for other sites, and photography.

But do not dispair! The Stew may not be served here anymore, but I will still be writing reviews and commentary over at my new site - http://swbaugher.web.officelive.com .  That site will store all of my future commentary, review, and editorials, as well as being a gallery for my photography.

Also, I will still be participating at Major Spoilers, both on their main page and on the forums. As a matter of fact, I sent Stephen an article just this morning, and it should be seeing publication some time in the near future. I hope you all like it.

So, update your book marks with the new site - http://swbaugher.web.officelive.com

See you there!

Stacy B.

New Site Features…

January 16, 2008

Not really much new. I added a VodPod to the sidebar and filled it with comic related videos. Hopefully I will be able to start getting some of the Marvel and DC news stuff up over there soon.

Right now it has the trailer for JUSTICE LEAGUE: NEW FRONTIER, IRON MAN, two episodes of IRON MAN ADVENTURES (an excellent cgi from the Marvel Kids website) and  video suing the old Merry Marvel Marching Society song.

Hope you enjoy them!

Just a little housecleaning….

January 16, 2008

Trying to figure out a new look for the Stew. New header, format, etc.

Should be up and going by tomorrow.

Major Spoilers closes it’s website.

October 29, 2007

I’m disgusted. Major Spoilers is shutting down their website, one of the best in the industry. Stephen and Matthew have a great site and I am really going to miss it.

Feel free to go pay your respects. :-(

Bad Mood.

October 19, 2007

Some may have noticed that I haven’t posted much this week. Well, the reason for that is that I try not to post when I am pissed off, and several comic publishers and creators have managed to piss me off, so I am sticking by the old saying…

If you don’t have anything nice to say, keep your mouth shut and fingers away from the keyboard.

Honestly, I’ll probably make a big post later next week about it, but right now it is really eating at me, so I’m just gonna prepare my FanFilm Friday post instead.

It’ll be up shortly.

Project: Rooftop’s Fights, Flights and Tights 2 started…

September 20, 2007

Project: Rooftop, that spectacular costume re-imagination site, has announced the start of it’s 2nd annual FIGHTS, FLIGHTS and TIGHTS contest. For those of you who are going, "Whaaaa?" here is how it breaks down…

You make an original costume which is a redesign of a current super hero costume, put it on and take some pics of it. Send the pictures to the great group at Project: Rooftop, and they may post it and judge it.

So, you are now wondering, "What’s in it for me?" Well, besides having your pic posted on one of the top comic art sites out there, you might just win a sketch by Dean Trippe of your re-imagined costume.

As an example, here is last years winner…

Pretty sweet!

(if there is any problem with reposting these pics, let me know and I can take them down)

So, if you wanna try and win some sweet original art of you as your favorite character in a costume you designed, get cracking! The contest ends October 21st.

CLARIFICATION: The Comic Stew is not associated with Project: Rooftop, I’m just a big fan!

This is just a test…

Trying to see if I can upload photos to the blog by simply pasting them in here.

Wonder if that worked.
